Thank you

Thanks very much to those of you who have contributed to the album manufacturing and press/pr costs via the crowd fund page (which has now closed). We got VERY NEARLY the full amount and so, with a bit of cleverness, we can still make it work.

Will be back in touch with a release date asap.

Must get on. Thank you again. Speak soon.

Charlie Dore

Delighted to have been asked to open the show for Charlie Dore at Kingskerswell Parish Church, Newton Abbot on 20 May. I’ve been meaning to see Charlie, live, for a while now: might as well wait until you’re on the same bill, is what I always say.

Buy tickets here.

Kingskerswell is a great little venue with immaculate sound; I saw Emily Barker there last month. 20 May is also my Mum’s birthday: fact.

If you’re down Devon way, or can make the trip out, it would lovely to see you.

The campaign for Mobile is going great, by the way. THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed so far.

Please tell the others!!

We’ve Got It All

mobile-single-001-cover

I wrote a song called ‘We’ve Got It All’ about counting your blessings: listing the good things and stating what you can do rather than lamenting what you can’t. Boo Hewerdine helped me with a little structural tweak. He doesn’t realise how much I LIVE for that kind of detailed gold dust. The job, from my point of view, of writing a song is to give the listener a journey they will enjoy that doesn’t require a map and to make it a journey they will want to take again. And to get my tangled heart down on paper with a melody all of its own.

This song is the first single from the forthcoming album ‘Mobile’.

Regular readers will know that I’m currently running a crowdfunder campaign to help pay for CD manufacture and a great press campaign for the album. I’d appreciate your help. Back it now, if you can.

Thank you.

SINGLE 14 FEB

That’s a statement by the way: not a question.

The first single, from the album Mobile, is out on iTunes on 14 Feb and it’s called We’ve Got It All. A song about counting your blessings; of which there are always many.

Snippet of another song, here, from the record. This song is all about a photograph my mum found of me and my dad. We’re sat on a trailer (he’s weirdly wearing a suit and a shirt and (kipper) tie) and I have a little toy plane in my hand…

Don’t forget to back this amazing new album, if you haven’t already. Thanks, folks.

BACK IT NOW!
