I wrote a song called ‘We’ve Got It All’ about counting your blessings: listing the good things and stating what you can do rather than lamenting what you can’t. Boo Hewerdine helped me with a little structural tweak. He doesn’t realise how much I LIVE for that kind of detailed gold dust. The job, from my point of view, of writing a song is to give the listener a journey they will enjoy that doesn’t require a map and to make it a journey they will want to take again. And to get my tangled heart down on paper with a melody all of its own.
This song is the first single from the forthcoming album ‘Mobile’.
Regular readers will know that I’m currently running a crowdfunder campaign to help pay for CD manufacture and a great press campaign for the album. I’d appreciate your help. Back it now, if you can.
Thank you.
