Hi there. Been a bit quiet on this site. That’s ’cause I can’t be arsed to attend to it when I’m busy with other things. Those things, in this case, being writing another album’s worth of songs. I’ve written fifteen songs that I’m very proud of. Gonna take those fifteen forward to the sessions and see what works. Probably gonna record the bulk of it at Bridgerow Studios in Wales. Musicians and a producer still to be confirmed. I’ve been listening to Johnny Marr, Ben Watt, Roddy Frame, Bill Fay, Boo Hewerdine, Springsteen (The River), Burt Bacharach, Neil Finn, Danny and the Champs, Ethan Johns, Gillian Welch, Ryan Adams, Harry Nilsson, James Maddock, Jason Isbell, Kathryn Williams, Lloyd Cole, Neil Young, Nick Lowe, Prefab Sprout, Paul Buchanan (sigh…), Paul Simon, R.E.M, Randy Newman, Robert Vincent, Ron Sexsmith, This Is The Kit, Trent Miller, Tracey Thorn and Tom Waits. So who knows what this little snapshot of time is gonna sound like. I’m proud, also, to say that my first album—Sweet The Love That Meets Return—is still selling and people seem to like it. There’s a radio session coming-up sometime soon that I did for James Hodder on Resonance FM in London and there’s also a tour, of sorts, with Jinder in February 2015. The Collected Dorothy Parker is my book recommendation by the way. Spectacular. See ya. PJM.
